3 Chicks and a Rooster

We may seem like one ordinary family, but we are one unique chicken coop!

Denial, it’s what keeps us going! July 19, 2011

Filed under: Momma Chick, rant, rooster — Momma Chick @ 3:26 pm

Even after being married for 11 years that dreaded green-eyed monster comes to shine.

Rooster doesn’t ogle at the opposite sex, unless it is clothing options for me. By the way, if you are wearing something low cut with great shoes you can bet he is imagining me in that same outfit.

Time and again we may be watching a movie and I will be all, “Such and such is HOT”.  Which rooster will reply, with “Yeah she is”.

Doesn’t he know the rule of thumb?

Deny, deny, deny, deny!

It’s like you only being allowed to pick on your sibling.

The proper answer is, “I never noticed her before.”

Then I can be all, “Awe isn’t my husband just the best?”

Okay I do know this answer isn’t true, and that Rooster has noticed her before. I mean what warm-blooded male hasn’t seen her half naked body on the side of a bus promoting her next movie?

The fact is women LOVE denial! We live and breathe denial!

We ask if we look fat in this, and you say no… DENIAL

We ask if eating that Big Mac, while watching Biggest Loser is a good idea, and you say sure… DENIAL again!

The lesson for this ramble is:

The green-eyed monster wouldn’t rear its ugly head if DENIAL ruled our lives!

No Habla Espanol… July 7, 2011

I love reading Magazines.

I love People, Cosmo, and all the smut out there!

I must love them so much that people think I need magazines like these…

*This English inquiring mind would like to know… Is there a translation for Sex Tips?*

1. I don’t pay for them

2. Not sure if this a Punk’d moment in the form of magazines

3. I have been getting them for months

4. Am happy I can pass them to the side of the fam that can read them

5. Would REALLY love to be able to read them

Today I received a new one…

The positive on this one is at least I can read it.

I am really interested in reading about the article on Latinos and Marriage. Rooster is 1/2 Latino, so does that mean what is said here has 1/2 a chance of being a factor into ours?

So if I am being Magazine Punk’d can you please send me Us Weekly maybe? I think I am safe with that one right?

Opposites Attract May 25, 2011

When I hear about single friends and how they are attracted to someone because they have many similar interests I wonder how that really works.

I am not knocking it, but I will tell you the truth,

I fell for Rooster for these reasons…

1. HOTNESS… That boy at the age of 19 was one athletic, fine specimen of a man. (Don’t worry he is like a good bottle of wine, who only gets better with age)

2. Confidence… He is one cocky guy who knows his stuff don’t stink.

3. Intelligence… It irritates me sometimes the brains this man has and  how naturally he comes by it.

I didn’t fall for him for our similarities, because when you look we don’t have many.

He is a night owl, whereas I could be asleep by 9 on any night.

He loves to go out on the town, whereas I would rather cuddle on the couch with glass of wine.

He can do something over and over until he wants to get it right, whereas I will give up and maybe go back after a month.

He can watch endless hours of any sport, including golf (SNORE FEST), whereas I can spend endless hours reading a good book.

The few similarities we do have fill in the holes, but it’s our differences that make us the strong couple we are.

You don’t need to be twins in comparisons for a great relationship to be just that… GREAT!

Broken car, family drama, and a death in the family

When things get tough in my every day life I turn into an Ostrich and hide in the sand, because when it rains it pours.

Broken Car

Our transmission went kaput, so we turned into a one car coop.

75% of my day was spent in a car, doing drop off, pick up, drop off, and pick up.

The car is finally fixed, which means more time for Momma Chick to write and blog.

Family Drama

Why is it when there is money involved personalities change?

If it isn’t your money than leave it alone, enough said.

Death in the family

Death is hard, especially when the person still had life to live.

I just hope he is without his internal struggle and at peace.

We love you Uncle Tom! You are thought of and missed every day!

I don’t want to be a Negative Nancy, so I am keeping this short and tomorrow will be moving on 🙂

Taking it too far! April 21, 2011

A few weeks ago a San Fransisco Giant fan went to a ball game at the opposing teams stadium

Said fan was beat unconscious because of being a fan of the rivaled team that played the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Yesterday I was reading my local news app on my phone and see that Rebecca Black, that sings the song Friday that became a You Tube sensation, is receiving threats, because someone wants her song off the internet.

I understand loving a team to the point where you think every other team sucks.

I understand disliking a song, because it isn’t your cup of tea.

But to physically harm someone because of what they like or what they sing?

The man that was beaten is a father, and just wanted to see his team play.

The 13 year old, yes THIRTEEN YEAR OLD, has a dream like every other starry eyed teen, who wants to make it big one day.

I may want the Giants to loose every game played against the Dodgers. Does that mean I want to beat up a fan of the opposing team?

No, because the love the game should mean more to you than who likes what team.

Do I like the song Friday? Honestly, Her genre is just not one I listen to, but many others do.

Do I want harm coming to this teenager? Absolutely not!

She has a dream and I hope she succeeds.

Have a listen! Let’s show her some love even if we don’t care for the song itself.

The man that was beaten at a baseball game is still in critical condition. Let’s pray that he does survive and the men who are responsible are caught!
